1) Welcome ISOSA. We truly love and adore the new EP. How did the project first come about?

ISOSA: Hello, Hello! Thank you for having me and I hope you’re blessed. First of all, I appreciate the feedback! Means a lot honestly. To answer your question, it’s a little complicated. Me & my manager NGF have been trying to drop an EP since last October and we just kept pushing it back. We also just kept going with other ideas we had for single drops which put the idea of an EP to the side numerous times. But deep down we always knew an EP drop is what we want to eventually do. It wasn’t till around March/April this year (2024) when we really decided to get locked in and make releasing this EP a target for before the year ends but again. Life was doing its best at keeping us stuck on a rollercoaster ride and many delays occurred. By September we decided to lock the EP in and not look back. Whatever happens, happens and just hope for the best whilst trusting God will do the rest. Which is what we did and on the 25th of October, “Too much is never enough” landed. A full circle moment now that I deep it.

2) What was it like recording in the studio, do you have any favourite memories from how the project was made?

ISOSA: Recording in the studio is always fun. Whether I’ve gone alone or with some family and friends. It’s always fun. I rarely go to the studio without having what I want to record ready and complete. So after a brief convo between everyone in the room and just checking how everyone is mentally and what life has been like since. We’re straight into business. But I’m very goofy and the people around me know this. So yes, there are many clown-like moments and banter in between takes. In terms of a favourite memory, I wouldn’t say I have a specific but the tracks in the EP where I’ve had to exercise my vocals were hilarious but also a challenge because I’m all for making music. Good music.

3) What do you hope listeners gain from listening to the EP and to you as an artist?

ISOSA: I hope listeners get a clear sense of my identity from this EP. That I’m a child of God, I do it for God and that I’m as normal and more relatable to you than you think. I’ve been a kid, still a kid at times but I’m a young adult transitioning into becoming a man, the best version of myself possible. I’m not perfect because there’s no such thing. Only God is. I try to make my music as transparent as possible because I want you to feel a sense of safety listening to this EP. Not everyone in this life has got it all together and I’m one of them. But that’s okay because we all run different races and have different purposes. Find yours, accept yours and be fulfilled in what you’ve been called to do. And that could be ANYTHING! If it makes you happy and it’s helping the people around you. Pray over it, ask God to guide you and keep flying.

4) You made some impressive tracks and music overall. who were some of your influences growing up in music, did you go to them for inspiration for your EP ?

ISOSA: First of all, thank you again. Gods at the wheel so I give Him thanks always. I have a mixture of influences when it comes to making music. I genuinely like anything that sounds good to my ears. Whether it’s Gospel/Praise & Worship, UK/US rap, Hip-Hop, Neo soul, R&B, Afrobeats, Rock and Roll (believe it or not) or just some Traditional live band. If you want to know specific artists I listened to growing up. I was and still am really a fan of Wretch 32, Ghetts, Tinie Tempah, Kendrick Lamar, Drake, J Cole, Michael Jackson, Mary J. Blige, 50 Cent, Timberland, Justin Timberlake, Arctic Monkeys and Coldplay. As well as all those artists. I’ve now added names like Knucks, Central Cee, Cleo Sol, Jorja Smith, Caleb Gordon, Alex Jean, Todd Dulaney, Maverick City, Dietrick Haddon, Tasha Cobbs, Marvin Sapp and many more to that list. I did go to a few of these artists to find inspiration for my EP but then again it was really just the appreciation of good taste that I took into creating this project. At the end of the day I wanted listeners to listen to the EP and hear “ISOSA”.

5) What advice would you give new creatives around the world or those who want to pursue a career in music ?

ISOSA: Boy oh boy! This question sounds like I’ve made it already! I would say trust God, believe in yourself, have faith and don’t take negative criticism too personal but use all kinds of criticism, constructive or not to your advantage. You can always learn something from someone who’s older than you, more experienced than you or even younger and less experienced than you. Don’t let arrogance or pride limit how much you can take from someone else’s point of view. Doesn’t mean jump when someone says “jump”. But hear them out. This also goes back to trusting yourself and most importantly trusting God. You’ll know it’s right when it feels right and you’ll know you’re heading in the right direction when progression starts to feel harder and more challenging. It’s all part of the growth and if God did it before, He’ll do it again.

6) Finally, What’s coming up next from you. Could we look forward to more

music videos, covers and any live shows coming up ?

ISOSA: I’ve got so much more coming that I’m excited about. This EP was really just a way of showing people what I can do/what I’ve been holding back. I’ve got some features already locked in. Been building relationships with more producers and my journey with Christ is just getting stronger as the days go. I’ll be performing at Still Shadey’s headline show “Glorious News”, on the 18th of November at the O2 Islington. Music videos are most definitely in talks. Shout out ShotByL4 in helping me make movies and SheEditsLondon on the creative cover arts and content you see me post. Me and my manager NGF have a lot in the works and I know God will take us where He needs us to be. Amen, God bless and thank you again for this opportunity.
