Fashion has been a huge movement in the entertainment industry. From British rapper Tinchy Stryder's Star in the hood merchandise, ASAP Rocky's Always strive and prosper brand to Karl Kani and Daymond John's brand FUBU being worn by superstars such as LL Cool J, NSYNC and Drake. It plays a big part in creative expression, identity and attraction. Step up Bold Ozioma who after the pandemic created the incredible clothing brand BELIEVE. From his humble beginning moving from Nigeria to Ireland to pursue a better life and more opportunities. Bold has created one of the newest and most unique brands to come out of Dublin city.
We caught up with the upcoming designer to chat about the making of Believe and his vision for the brand as well as sharing his inspirations and purpose behind the clothing line. With a word of wisdom for young creators in fashion and sharing his plans for the upcoming months and more.

1) Welcome Bold , congratulations on your fashion brand going live , its a fantastic clothing line. Could you tell us about how it first came about ?
BOLD : OK so I got the inspiration from me always just having self doubts like I was always second-guessing instead of just going with my gut feelings and I remember when I was in secondary school how I wouldn’t answer questions because I was scared of being wrong. So, in 2020 during Covid I was bored and wanted to start a brand, but I didn’t have no inspiration and designs were not coming along as well. So I left it alone for a while and I was just living my life. I feel that me not having ideas was cause I haven’t lived life to the max. I’m from Nigeria and I had just come to Ireland and I had not experienced stuff on my own because I’d stayed with my uncle once I came here. My best friend started a brand called Greaterthan00 and it was actually so cool and he motivated me in the sense of someone doing it in Nigeria with limited resources and not really having an audience made me believe that okay, I can actually do this. At the time my brand started to form, I started to live life and started having my own experiences and stuff like that God experiences. And then coming up with the name was easy because my brand is something I want to tell a story about my life, so I was contemplating between Believe and Belief so me and my siblings chose believe but I really wanted to be belief, but I’m happy that we ended up with believe anyways.
2) We appreciate the brand alot. What do you think separates your brand from others ?
BOLD : So, what separates my brand from the rest is my designs and my colour choices, imagery and not following trends.

3) It’s a great range so far. Who were some of your inspirations growing up in fashion? BOLD : My inspirations in fashion ere A$AP Rocky, Ian Connor, Young Lord just to name a few and I’m sure you know these guy’s back in the day were at the top of the fashion hierarchy and they still are. I've started to grow my own personal style but it’s not like I don’t still look up to them.
4) If you could collaborate with 4 celebrities on a fashion campaign for your brand who would they be and why ?
BOLD : I would love to collaborate with Tyler The Creator because I think it would be fun and eventful and just a whole lot of laughter because sometimes you need that instead of just always being so serious so I feel like that’s what he’d will bring the environment. Next would be MowaLola cause I think she’s very brave and daring which was shown with her last collection that she dropped it got a lot of love, and hate at the same time. So next would be Skepta so I feel with him, he is very detailed yet simple and you can see that in his brand as well Mainz. Lastly would be Lil Yachty just off his last collaboration with Nike the shoes were fire and he’d, bring a very like colourful imaginative vibe, everyone on this list is very creative and stuff but I feel like he would just add that extra swag to it. I think this Is a very balanced list of creatives including myself it would be so sick and dope.

5) As a Black Irish talent coming up we know it hasn't been easy. What advice would you give young creatives who want to have success in fashion ?
BOLD : My advice would be to really want this because the lows will really determine if you really want It because it can really affect your state of mind, especially if you’re not seeing the sales that you want to see obviously starting off and all of that but if you really just have passion for it and you just enjoy creating and just dropping stuff.

6) Lastly, what can we expect from Believe moving forward, any pop up stores or maybe a fashion short film maybe ?
BOLD : So I’ve been planning a pop-up but obviously you just need the right time so hopefully by September I will have a pop-up in Dublin and you know more details to follow in the coming weeks. New drops on the way, new pieces, new stock up I’m working on as well. Obviously all this takes time you know a whole production but for sure, new stuff coming I can’t wait to share it. Thank you .
